Welcome to the Artist Series – a celebration of Australian art, the craft of coffee and the coastal culture that’s shaped us from the beginning, brought to life this summer through a limited-edition series of takeaway cups.
For our inaugural Artist Series, we turned to someone who’s been part of the Will & Co story since day one: Chris Nixon – a long-time collaborator, mate and multidisciplinary artist. His contemporary coastal aesthetic has helped shape our visual world for years – from packaging to murals to branding – so it felt like the natural place to begin.
Chris has crafted a vibrant summer design that lives on a limited-edition run of takeaway cups, pouring across participating Will & Co cafés throughout the warmer months. And here’s the kicker: every coffee purchased in an Artist Series cup gives you the chance to enter our Art of Coffee Experience Giveaway. Aussie art and a major prize up for grabs? Behind the Design
Chris Nixon is a Perth-based artist whose portfolio spans illustration, film, large-scale murals and everything in between – always layered with movement, texture and an unmistakably Australian coastal energy. We’ve worked with Chris for years because he brings the same thing our baristas do every morning: craft, care and a little bit of play.
For the Artist Series, we kept the brief intentionally loose: create a piece of art inspired by coastal summer energy. Chris took that simple direction and transformed it into a piece that captures the playful and joyful rhythm of the season while feeling unmistakably Will & Co.
It’s a reminder of something we’ve always believed: coffee is equal parts science and art. Every cup is shaped by technique, instinct and the quiet creativity of each person who encounters the beans from farm to cup. Our brand has always been built alongside artists who bring that same spirit to their work – helping us create a visual identity people connect with as deeply as the coffee itself.
The Tasting Bar Takeover
To bring the Artist Series to life in full colour, Chris reimagined the Will & Co Tasting Bar in Bondi – our home base and a place where coffee, community and creativity naturally gather.
Across the space, his summer artwork appears in considered, unexpected ways: from exterior moments that catch your eye as you pass by, to custom details woven into the bar itself. Framed Artist Series prints line the walls, while a limited-edition machine panel and roaster hood wrap extend the artwork into the working heart of the café.
Visitors can also shop the Artist Series tote and tee at the Tasting Bar, offering a way to take a piece of the collaboration home.
The result is a space that feels refreshed for the season – an immersive expression of summer, grounded in the everyday rhythm of coffee shared with others.
